Useful tips to fight the mobile theft or loss

These tips are common sense, but if you think about it, most of us have already lost a valuable item, be it a mobile phone, a wallet, keys or whatever else, so it might be common sense but we do not always apply it
So here it goes…for better peace of mind!
Think of your phone as you would of your wallet or your purse. It is a valuable item if you think about all the personal information you have inside the phone from text messages, to contacts details, pictures, videos etc…
First, let’s have a look at a few facts,
Thousands of mobile phones are regularly left in taxis.
People get more upset over a lost phone than over a parking ticket or lost keys
Over 40% of people have, at some point, lost, damaged or had their phone stolen.
And the worse thing is that three quarter of them never got their phone back.
Half of people who lose their mobile phone or have it stolen are unable to replace half of their contact numbers.
For most people, who have experienced misplacing their mobile phone, the worst part is to know that some contact numbers will never be recovered.
Most phones are lost, stolen or damaged while on holidays. It makes sense if you think about it - the bar, the restaurant, the beach, or while engaged in sporting or adventure activities - these are all places where it is easy to misplace a phone.
Other places that top the polls for mobile phones left behind are airplanes, airports, rental cars , taxis, buses, and hotels.
When you are out:
Make sure to keep your phone with you at all times, even if you are just going for a short period of time e.g. to the bar or somewhere else
Never leave your phone unattended in public. You wouldn’t leave your diamond ring and your credit cards on the table at a terrace while you were going to the bar get a round of drinks, right? Same applies to your mobile phone.
When you are out be aware of your immediate surroundings and don’t use your phone in crowded areas or where you might feel unsafe. You might try to use a hands-free headset and keep your phone out of sight.
Try to avoid topping up your mobile phone in public.
In the car:
Never leave your phone visible in an unattended vehicle. You can for example leave it under your seat out of sight, or lock it in the glove compartment.
When you leave your car, make sure you have locked it.
While driving, in the summer, be mindful of open windows in your car.
Try to keep you mobile phone out of sight.
If you are in the passenger, avoid speaking on the phone with you harm out the window.
More…And of course, by subscribing to one of the backup services offered by SIMchronise e.g. honeyitsfunny.com, http://www.nokiasoftware.nl/ etc…(depending on which country you are in), you can protect your mobile phone further, thus ensuring that if your mobile phone ever gets lost or stolen, you can retrieve all your saved contacts back to a new mobile phone.
